BAKERSFIELD CA – The new school year brings hope and new possibilities for many students but for those affected by bullying, it can bring declining grades, loss of interest in school, loss of friends, and avoidance of social situations - which negatively affect their education and health.
Stop Abuse For Everyone (SAFE) has released a video “Stop Bullying For Everyone” as a way to inform the public on the various types of bullying that affects over 3.2 millions students each year.
17% of American student’s report being bullied 2 to 3 times a month or more within a school semester.
More than 80 percent of teen regularly use cellphones; a common medium for cyberbullying.
Only 7% of U.S. parents are worried about cyberbullying; yet 33% of teenagers have been victims of cyberbullying.
SAFE is a 501(c)(3), tax exempt, nonprofit organization, that provides services for underserved victims of violence. Through educational, media, and training programs, we inform the public on what to do if a person becomes a victim.
SAFE offers information, resources, educational brochures, videos, articles, media campaigns, advocacy programs, a Speakers Bureau, and an Anti- Bullying Campaign that targets youth organizations, schools, community members, major corporations, and celebrities.
